Fabric 48 ~ Radio Slave.

album review

I\'ve been listening to this in the car constantly for the last week or two & it\'s graced the after hours sounds of one or two dj sets at the square. Despite the fact I don\'t usually dig this minimalist type of electronica, Radio Slaves Fabric mix is more than an exception. For once I\'m not bothered about just where one track ends and another one starts because I\'m so hypnotised by these trippy grooves that it no longer matters anymore. I\'d say it would take several listens to fully appreciate due to the amount of texture there is in the music. And because of its deceptively minimal approach this creates an interesting juxtaposition. What this selection of tracks lacks in songs & melodies it more than makes up for in hedonistic experimentation & trippy bliss. What initially appear to be meandering moments of filler on the first few listens, drop their superficial veil with repeated investigation to reveal hidden depths. These still waters run deep.
