Flood of Red @ Sonisphere Festival 09

live review

Scotland. Small villages with absoloutely nothing to do. As you would think idleness breeds apathy and apathy spawns inactivity, Flood of Red disprove this though. Having followed the band since their Debut E.P. It\'s evident that Flood of Red have come an absoloutely huge way, but also that their debut album is going to be in-fucking-credible. The energy in FOR\'s live show is relentless and unforgivable - lead singer Jordan Spiers racks in all kinds of directions, suprisingly in time with the music making FOR\'s set even more enjoyable. This is also mimicked by the rest of the band. Not only is Mr. Spier\'s credibility as a frontman sound, his vocals are incessantly tight. The beautiful bald babe of a guitarist Calum\'s backing vocals are equally as tight, and welcome to ears. It\'s a shame that FOR had to play on a stage comparatively smaller than the others, their performance alone certified that they deserved hugely to be busted up to the \'Saturn\' Stage, or even play the main stage instead of Fact (who were crap, and replaced Coheed and Cambria as they were stuck in traffic) although the light show on the stage where FOR played was as equally mind-fucking as FOR\'s music.

After quite a few years of relentless touring and grafting at their craftsmanship, Flood of Red\'s elbow grease is seeming to pay off generously with their live performance being greatly appreciated (there was a HUGE crowed), and their songs sounding quite avant garde. I hope that FOR have the chance to fulfill their potential, and so should you.
