Interview:
1. Band Name? Imperial Vipers
2. Why so called? We all liked the name vipers but wanted a name that made us sound more British and we rehearsed near a building that had the word “imperial” in huge letters on it, so the name sort of made itself
3. Where From? We are all originally from the Dunstable and Luton area, corky and ash are now residing in hackney, London, wevs seems to live in the back of his truck a lot these days and Scott and Andrew both live in Luton and Dunstable
4. Line Up? Ash Vocals, Corky Guitars, Wevs Guitars, Scott Drums, Andrew Bass
5. Average Age? 28
6. How long have you been together? 3 years
7. You are influenced by, or would appeal to fans of….? Punk rock, 70’s rock (ac/dc black Sabbath, rolling stones, led zep etc…) early Manchester scene and Seattle post punk scene, u.s hardcore.. but this is forever changing
8. Your fans are mostly… our fans are quite wide ranging as our music crosses lots of genres from the younger punk rock kids all the way up to seasoned rock veterans
9. Any recordings? We have released 3 singles, “kick a hole”, ”promised Land” and “jewels” all taken from our debut album release “searching falling silence” we’ve also recorded our next single and material for our forthcoming second album
10. What makes you different? Our sound and live show, which no one else is doing
11. A song you wish you’d written? “Rock the Casbah” or “London calling” by “the clash”
12. Which of your songs is most likely to be a hit? “Check this” our next single
13. Career highlight? Playing bercy stadium, Paris
14.Any good gig stories? Loads!! Watching mike Monroe from Hanoi rocks backstage, trying to pack away his saxophone while being hassled by a drunk fan or one of the band crapping themselves on the hard shoulder of the m6 while on the phone receiving an endorsement from Gibson guitars or getting out of eastern Europe alive!! This list could be endless.
15. So the moral of this story is....come see us play and hang out afterwards
16. Gigs coming up? 1 Feb 2008 Cheltenham,Two Pigs.
7 Feb 2008 London,Embassy Mayfair
29 Feb 2008 Colchester,The Twist
