2. Why so called?

When i used to go out with my single friends a few years back we called ourselves 'the singletons'

3. Where From?

Hertfordshire/London/Maine(usa)

4. Line Up?

lewis mortimer - vox&guitar
anna ray - vox&percussion
grant martin - vox&keys
karen joliffe - vox&violin
colin jennings - bass
jared martin - drums

5. Average Age?

20!

6. How long have you been together?

started 3 years ago with just anna and lewis but grew into a band

7. You are influenced by, or would appeal to fans of….?

anything we hope but i guess fans of very melodic music, such as the beatles!

more influences -

beach boys/supergrass/belle and sebastien/mose allison

8. Your fans are mostly…

Amazing, hehe, young and old, tall and short, all different types of music fans

alot of the younger peeps at recent gigs has really gone for us, like 10-15 year olds

but we also appeal to older peeps too, 20+

guess we're not cool enough for the teenagers!

9. Any recordings?

yea we've been doing our own recently, such as 'mama said' on our page

i've studied music technology for a couple of years and spend all my money on an equipment addiction!

but we've had trouble sticking with one drummer and we're real perfectionist in the studio, so you may not hear a final version of the songs for a while, we keep redoing them

but check out the works in progress by all means!

10. What makes you different?

our music, everyone says we sound 'effortlessly unique'
its not like we're trying to be different, we're just doing our own thing, just happens to be a bit different i guess.

our image, we dont really have one (some might say thats an image)

11. A song you wish you’d written?

all you need is love, god only knows, blowing in the wind

12. Which of your songs is most likely to be a hit?

thats up to a record company and the public i suppose, its all about marketing these days

mama said is sounding 80% finished, so maybe that one

grey monday, oh babe my life's such a mess (i freak out), woman, colour red, mellow dee

everyone in our audience has their own favourites and ideas as to what would be the best single

good i suppose because digital downloads are moving in favour of single songs these days

13. Career highlight?

getting interest from A&R people always feels good but so far it hasn't led to anything concrete, so its a bit of an anti-climax!

that moment when you write a song you feel is great, or when you hear a recording back and you know its good, its incredible how a good recording can transform your mood

our first best of local gig at the marquee when it was packed out and sweaty was pretty amazing!

14.Any good gig stories?

that one, my guitar was wet with sweat before i went onstage!

15. So the moral of this story is....

give the singletons some money and freedom in a big stuido, we want to make an album that will change the world! lol

16. Gigs coming up?

september 3rd at the marquee, its a special best of local anniversary gig, us, plastic passion and talk show hosts feature as well, big up cheshunt!
