It’s not often these days that you can say that a band has come up with a completely fresh and unique sound. The Distressors have done exactly that. Lead singer, Rae who stems from a Classical background and a talented mult-instrumentalist in her own right, has been writing with producers MJ Cole and Matt Schwartz in the studio for the past two years. The result is something very special indeed. Her vocals fuse the eccentricity of Gwen Stefani, the attitude of Blondie, the sensitivity of Kate Bush as well as the sheer rawness of Chrissy Hinde. The production power behind her draws upon influences from dance thru pop to rock and speaks with an identity of its own. The Distressors are ticking all the boxes – fine songwriting, edgy production and a live show which is leaving audiences stunned and begging for more. With the first album now complete they are looking to spread the word and introduce themselves to the rest of the world. The Distressors are here, and hearing is believing.
