Biog

Mishaped Pearls are Manuela Schuette - Vocals and Ged Flood - Guitar. Their new album "The Singer and The Poets" is a clever blend of folk/world, classical, Eastern, film, baroque and medieval music. The lyrics are taken from ancient poetry and sung in French, Italian and Latin. With this in mind the album still has a fresh, contemporary dream like feel to it. Manuela's beautiful vocal delivery is mesmerising and enchanting, occasionally operatic and other times soft and warming. The melodies are strong, extremely hooky and interwoven with varied instrumentation including acoustic guitar, tenor guitar, mandolin, vibraphone, piano, harpsichord, Chinese zither, Turkish oud and other brass and woodwind instruments. Poetry in motion.
