| Dear Sir/Madam,
I'm contacting you on behalf of The Slicknotes - a Colchester based 10-piece function band - we are keen to exhibit at Suffolk Wedding Show - could you let me know of availability and further information on the cost etc?
We would also be happy to perform to visitors at various intervals throughout the day, either outdoors/indoors - if this is of interest, we would ask if a discount could be negotiated on the cost of exhibiting (obviously no performance fee would be charged), as this would mean leaving our stand un-manned whilst performing. We can provide our own sound technician & equipment if needed, including a PA system.
I've copied some general info on the band below for reference.
I look forward to hearing from you.
Many thanks,
Shaun Ballisat

The SlickNotes are a charismatic 10-piece band comprising rhythm section, horn section and flamboyant lead vocalist, that play funk/rock/jazz/blues/pop/ska. The Slicknotes play a balanced mix of original material and covers by artists that have influenced the band, performed with the unique Slicknotes twist - influences include Ian Drury (Blockheads), Sly & The Family Stone, The Streets, Madness, James Brown, The Killers, Stevie Wonder, Michael Jackson and the Ting Tings.
After a well-recieved live performance on Ipswich Community Radio the band is due to enter the recording studio to record its first album.
All of the band's members have a wealth of performing experience in various genres of music, both as soloists and in a range of bands and ensembles and are either currently studying for, or have completed a music degree.
The Slick Notes have gigged across Essex and Suffolk at venues including Halesworth Cut, Bar Lambs, Swinburne Hall, Steamboat Tavern and Club Riga as well as at private functions such as weddings and corporate events.
Forthcomings public gigs include The White Horse, Sudbury and Headgate Theatre
The band recently won the Swinburne Hall Mixed Ensembles Competition and in the same fortnight were runner-up in the Battle of The Bands.
"too good for a Battle of The Bands competition".
Prodigy guitarist, Jim Davies (When adjudicating Swinburne Hall's 2008 Battle of the Bands Competition)
"whether you like to shake your pants to a bit of funk, rock, jazz or blues, the Slick Notes have something which will float your boat across the dancefloor"
